Usually, the resolution is to lose weight. My couch, however, needed to gain a few pounds.
I believe you've already been introduced to Slumpty Dumpty, my fugly, wrinkled, pea green couch:
Such a looker, right? He's kind of like an elephant, wearing his skin baggy and wrinkled.
Over winter break, I decided ole Dumpty needed an update. Since I don't have the funds to replace him, I went to a fabric store and bought a huge roll of batting and five bags of stuffing.
Then, I googled stuffing a couch, slit open the bottom of the two back pillows and stuffed them as far as they could go. The actual cushions were a harder project since I had to carefully wrap each with batting and slip them back into their cases.
Then, I sewed up the cushions...
Here's the fattened after:
Still pea green, but a little less wrinkled and saggy! For a project that took about an hour and a half and $30, I was pretty pleased. :)
Ignore the dark quality of the next pictures, but I wanted to show you the lamps and side tables that Dan and I purchased. We decided since Dumpty was a little more in shape, there needed to be more light in the room. (Somehow, even though the room is quite bright now and gets good sunlight, these photos came out dismally dark.)
Anyhoo, these rather modern lamps and criss-cross side tables are from Target:

I love the comparison of your couch to an elephant-- that's classic. But you did a hell of a job! It looks like a completely new couch!

Looks great Christen! I need to do that to almost every pillow in the house it seems. Why do the stores underfill the pillows? For everyday use those things need to be jam-packed. The tables and chair are awesome...really pulls the room together!
Can't wait to come see!
Nice!!!
p.s. here is the restaurants.com link I wrote about to you before: http://view.emailrestaurant.com/?j=fe6115747263057c7317&m=feef1377736103&ls=fdf112797264077e73107677&l=fe971670756c027f73&s=fe221370726204757d1578&jb=ffcf14&ju=fe2a15777366057f741c79&rpid=3801&ListID=2008626&r=0
It has the code, but basically select a restaurant gift cert. add it to your cart & then at checkout it will ask you for the promo code. For 80% off it is SPOON (the code typically lasts a couple days) then you will see how much it REALLY costs you & check out. Then you just pay & print!
I love it when a plan comes together. And this really came together (and frugally). It looks great! --smc
