First Halloween!

No time to post much.

It is the best of times.  It is the most trying of times.  Hobbling around in pain, sciatica, worry, anxiety, soreness, his cry cuts me to the core, i've never been happier than when he fell asleep on me, lactation specialists, time going by in a flash, crying jags, second guessing every decision from feeding to waking him,  so grateful for my husband and parents, in awe, in love...

Now for posterity's sake... a few pictures from his first Halloween :)

Oh! I so vividly remember all of that. When Penny was about 3 weeks old we walked to our neighborhood cafe. As we were eating a woman with an 8-month-old came up to me and said "It gets so much better. Just know that you're doing fine." I don't know if I looked ridiculously tired or if I had been checking on Penny sleeping in her stroller every 5 seconds, but whatever it was, I was so grateful for her stopping by. I've never had the courage to do it myself when I've seen a new mom so I'll just post it here. You are doing a great job...and even though people say the time flies by, it can feel like the movie Groundhog's Day too. And it isn't bad to feel that way.
I love all the photos!

haha... Katherine was a 1 year old before I stopped having PTSD when I'd hold other people's newborns. It gets SO. MUCH. BETTER. And then it's amazing. You'll get into the groove! And he's ADORABLE, and you totally LOOK like you know what you're doing!! :)
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
